Guys here is my story and hope with your help I can solve this problem.

I had a B16a2 running on 15psi of boost for more than 4 months one day it blew up at the track and my 3rd sleeve was gone. Vitec always worked properly before

I now decided to build a B18A1 LS short block with Wiseco pistons and rods put on my B16a2 head and now that I finaly has the car running I have no VTEC at all.

I have been reading a lot here on the forum but still has no luck fixing it.

- I don't have any cel code 21 or 22
- I took off the solenoid it was all gloged with dirty ****, I cleaned it completely put it back still no luck.
- I tested the solenoid with 12v from the batery and it clicks..

I have a P73 ITR headgasket on it., and a conversion kit that I have bought on Ebay..

Can you guys please help me out here and give me some ideas to check what is wrong with this thing it realy starts to pissing me off, cause car has no power at all on boost without the Vtec working properly.

 

hows ur oil pressure?

 

did you wire everything up correctly?

 

I haven't check the oilpressure yet I was waiting to get a oil press gauge from a friend of mine. Where exactly should I get the pressure from? from my oil adapter or from the whole next to the Vtecsolenoid? I wired everything corectly since it not the 1st time I do engine builds .. but thanks for asking. I checked everything yesterday like connectors etc.

best place to get a pressure reading is from the oil pressure switch.

 

I've never had any problems with my ls/vtec build, but I have found that vtec is a little more reluctant to kick in if my oil level is low. Never checked the pressures, but the only times this has ever happened I've checked and been low on oil but then filling her back up fixes it.
