Default tach install help

aight, my friend has a 5" faze tach that he is going to give me that he got from a friend awhile back ..... and neither of us know how to instal the tach .. so i was wondering if anyone may know how too .. or know a site that tells how too ... im going to be putting it in my 91' ef hatch for the time being till i get a actaul cluster with a tach .. but im only doing it because its free ...

i have only seen the tach one tiem and i know it has these wires running from it ... red, black, green, then i think there was two wire that ran side by side then seperated .. idk, i dont really remember ... but any help would be appreciated

red connect to a power source thats always on i think
black just ground to the body
green connect to the blue wire coming out of the plug on the back of the cluster, or you can connect it to the distributor but thats more work then is needed.

if im wrong someone will say something im sure. i did this last year.

i used the cig. lighter harness to run the 3 wires to....and for the 4th blue wire (tach signal), i went straight into the back of the cluster....was easy to do and works and looks great...no wires in sight

Yeah there should be red-12v,black-ground,green-ignition signal,white-illumination...tap into the dimmer for illumination so it will dim with everything ,that's i did...The 2 wires that run with eachother ,,are they black and kind of thick? if so they're for a shift light most likely...

I think there are 5 wires. A red, green, and black together. Red = power, black =ground, green = tach signal. Then there are two wires that run through a box and an inline fuse. One of them goes to the lights (should be red/black I think) and the other goes to ground I think.

that diagram doesnt really help .. cause it has the green, red, black, and white wires by thee self .. then there are two wire that run into a box then run out the other side .. i think "sitinthehall" described it right
