Default Automatic transmission broken?

Well, I was driving down to the mall when I noticed my car started to jerk. And I was STUCK in the middle of busy traffic. By stuck I mean I was FLOORING IT, and my car wouldn't move and inch! It just kept reving and reving. Yes, I checked, my car was in drive. I tried everything, putting my car into park, and moving it back to drive. etc, none of the gears would work. NOT EVEN REVERSE!

So thats when I decided to hit my emergency lights and turn my car off and start it back up. And thats when my car started going again. My car starts jumping and it goes smooth once I hit around 40. Then my car just DIED again. I have no idea whact's going on, I was told that I was going to have to rebuild my transmission.

It was bitch finding a tow truck available at 9 PM, anyways, anyoine had this issue?

any idea? i just pulled out the transmission today, the torque converter has funny grooves. i'm not sure if it's soposed to be like that, anyone have a picture of a D series torque converter?

i was searching on honda-tech, people who had my issue of having there car in drive and not going anywhere said it was there torque converter.

i would convert to stick, trust me i've tried, but my dad isn't agreeing with that idea.

any input?
