Default JDM or Not? (ITR Head)

Im a little confused. Me and a buddy of mine were talkin bout ITR heads. He was tellin me that when u lift the spark plug cover off the head and turn it over u will see a diagram that looks like a little dude with his hands up and ***** out lol pretty funny... and its true but he said that the JDM heads have it. Now my friend with USDM Type R did the same, and also has the little diagram!!!! I was obviously lied to... but how can i tell if it really is JDM???? And just outa curiousity, what is a pretty concrete way to check if its a Type R head without havin to do any takin apart??? Thanx and I appreciate some of your facts

Well I can see its obvious that its a Type R head if it has the P73 intake manifold on it. But JDM??? Hmmmm.... any relevant big difference anyway between usdm and jdm head?

^ PR3 castings are all the same, it could be a B16 head with a Type-R intake manifold for all you know.

yea that makes sense but then how would I be able to find out without having to do some taking apart and valve clearance measurements?? Not much choice huh

Nope. Look for green paint on the head casting, right beside the distributor... Stock Type-R heads were labeled with this paint from the factory, as being the best castings of the bunch.

I looked for that and saw nothing but at the same time, Im sure its possible that paint could have faded... all i see is PR3-2 (tells me nothing) and by the distributor it looks EXACTLY like the letter "R" carved but backwards!?? hmmmm

That doesn't mean anything. My Prelude's brake calipers have an R engraved on them, that doesn't make them Type-R.

You're limited by what you can tell aesthetically, and without tearing things apart. Not much advice can be offered.

Well its a poor mans type r... has the gsr block, type r head, type r tranny, and type r internals (jdm supposably). My little solution I wanted to do was dyno, numbers dont lie and I just wana see where it stands. And if im not mistaken JDM blocks just say B18C, not B18C1 or B18C5 correct?

JDM Integra Type-R pistons say P73-00 on them. Check that.
