HELP! wiring harness question JDM H22A obd2 into 01 prelude
Hi,
I am putting a 97+ JDM H22a with obd2 into a USDM 01 prelude to replace the blown out H22a4. The jdm engine came with cut wiring harness and the shop that is doing the work couldn't figure how to connect the wiring harness. Appreciate any help with regards to what wiring harness to get.
thanks

Why do u not use your usdm harness? the jdm harness will not work b/c it is wired to the wrong side. Good luck with the swap. jdm obd2 has the tdc and cps in the dizzy and usdm has them on the crank. U have to swap those sensers or get an obd1 usdm dizzy. I just swapped the dizzy b/c i never had an usdm motor to pull parts off of but some reason I can only get my car to run off an obd2 ecu and not and obd1 ecu.
I know this post was from way back but...So what 92-96 year did you take the OBD1 dizzy from...and that's an external coil right....I've heard the easiest and best way to do this is to:
1.)instead of swapping in the USDM oil pump (that has the TDC and CPK sensors on it)...extend and splice the CPK and TDC signal wires from your USDM harness (were originally routed into the stock USDM oil pump underneath the timing chain cover to receive signal from TDC and CPK) into the JDM H22A internal coil dizzy (use the JDM pigtail plugs obviously)
OR...
2.)swap in an USDM H23A OBD1 dizzy but then u would have to swap in and use a USDM oil pump (cause it has the CPK and TDC sensors needed on it)...
even though 2 has more work involved I heard its the best way to go sense the JDM internal coil dizzy sucks
my plan is to keep my prelude running off of OBD2 ECU
