why does my precision gt4088 say DAF o the compressor housing?
I recently ordered a precision gt4088 from precision in a T4 V band non divided configuration and i received it and the housing says DAF on it. it still has the precision stickers on it as well as the engraving on the outlet that says gt4088.
my housing still says .72AR M33 on it so i dont think theres a differnce there just the DAF and the texture of the housing as well.
i called precision and they told me they were never asked that before and they didnt know.
was hoping someone in here could shed some light.
here are a few pictures of the housing

As far as i know the 4088 journal bearing is just an off the shelf diesel turbo, those were probably manufactured for a diesel company of some sort.
that turbo is for DAF trucks, it was made for the DAF turbo diesel trucks

and you probably never heard of them because they are are a foreign truck company

garret is more of a turbo truck company then a car turbo company. thats where they make there money, suppling diesel truck companies with turbos.

all DAF is doing is having Garrett cast their name on the housing. its not any different from the other gt4088, it just has DAF logo on it.
