Default vtec issue

i have a b16a jdm motor in a 98 hatch. I have all the wiring done and the swap is done and runs fine except for vtec. It shows a code for the vtec selonoid, all the wiring is correct from what i checked, does it sound like a bad selonoid?? its a obd2 harness with a seperate vtec line ran from the selonoid. And its also jumped from obd2-1 at the ecu w/ a jumper harness

Got any buddies with a working vtec solenoid? Swap them out and see if the code goes away or if the problem is solved.

You could also hook the solenoid up to a 12V source and listen for a click.

you need to hook up a light to your 12v wire that goes to you solenoid and see if it lights up when your vtec should engage if not then i dunno... if it does light up then you need a new solenoid... also try to hook up 12v to your solenoid and see if you can hear a click... if you do then your soleniod is good
