bracket racing or straight up?
i have been doing bracket most of the time, but gonna start doing head up more .
i just dont like getting killed by 10sec cars in head up . brackets needs alot more skill to time the win right and not break out.

i'd personally rather race head to head, but it is always funner to watch braket racing ..... or even special exhibtion races were they let a 9 sec car take on a motorcyle....pretty funny stuff

thats usuallly the way to win , , , hoep the other guy redlights or breaks.
i have always gone against like 10sec cars and it sucks, so i mainly bracket.
once and a while i will heads up though.

i like heads up racing better too. but for those of us who arent fast enough YET, bracket racing is the only thing we can do to compete in IDRC or NHRA events.
so i like em both!

For the average racer, the bracket racing series is a good start. I have been bracket racing for like 5 years on the import races and its fun. While its mainly focusing on your own times and how consistent you are. It is also fun to see that a slower car can compete with anybody else. Which enables the general public to participate in racing, no matter what kind of car you have.
Yeah its koo to go heads up as well, but not everyone can compete in heads up classes. If I tried competing in heads up classes all those years, it would have been a waste of money. I’d get bumped out quick.
But with bracket racing, I have even won more money than some friends in the PRO classes. One race, I won 1st place in my bracket class plus I had a bunch of contingencies. That race alone, I took home $500 in cash plus another $700 in checks came in the mail in the next upcoming months.
That a good deal or what? $1200 in bracket racing. That’s like the top prize in PRO class in some events.
Anyways,
Good luck out there…

I havn't done alot of racing (only went to the track once), I went intending on bracket racing but they did not let me because I had a fluid leak. Anyways, I don't like the fact that this gay 1990 stockl accord (automatic I might add) got first place in the event. We asked him afterwards if he would do some straight up with us but he wouldn't. The "you might be able to talk the talk, but can you walk the walk" comes to mind.
you seem very confused. bracket racing is all about coming as close as possible to your dial in. automatics have a big advantage in this because they can run almost identical times each run. this is why the accord won. and of course he wouldnt race you heads up, its a slow *** auto accord.
he was not talking the talk, he was racing, and wining in bracket racing. he never said he could stomp the sheit out of anyone, anytime.

Yes, I know automatics have the avantage, but I also know that it takes NO, ABSOLUTLY NO driving skill what so ever to hit the gas pedal to the floor on the third yellow light. I would have respect for him if he was doing it with a manual transmission, but does not even know how to drive a stick.
I should try brackets :D a turbo automatic honda is probably the most consitant turbo honda there is cept for SUPER pros... this is all well until the tranny blows up of course.............
I like bracket racing...it gives the average Joe a chance to compete against the big $$$ that some people are able to spend. Heads up is very costly, bracket is all about consistancy and reaction times designed with the budget racer in mind...I hate automatics in bracket racing.
