Did your torgue em down in the right order? Theres a 2 step process when torquing down,, first is like 45, then 75, could be wrong on numbers.

Also did you take the head studs off in the right order? That could also warp your head. Im not sure what the tq is on the ls but I thought the arp head studs had more tq to them. Im not 100% on that though.

But take your valve cover off and retorque all of them in the right order. Just nip them up if its needed.

Oh and did you get water in the bolt holes? If so that can give you a false reading. If your not sure then take the bolts back out and clean inside the holes and lube the bolts a little then put them back in and TQ them down properly.

Yeah everything was taken off in the correct order and toruqed down in the correct order and we torqued them down to 65lbs in order but i asked a mechanic and he said that the head could be warped or cracked like some one mentioned so i might just torque them down again but any more ideas thanx guys

Were both surfaces clean when you reinstalled it? you have to lube the arp head stud threads washers and nuts or the torque will be off. .
Did you hook a coolant hose to vaccumme

if it was blowing white smoke before you did the head gasket there could have been coolant in your exhaust and may be burning off. at my shop when we change head gaskets it sometimes smokes and we just drive the car around for like 20 minutes or so until the **** burns out of your head and exhaust. also check your oil and see if there is coolant in your oil. if so then you know that you have to pull the head back off.

no everything was put on correctly and all of the coolant hoses are on the right way the only thing that we didn't was lube the head studs idk y but it smoke alittle bit out of the breather and the dip stick before now it just smokes out of the exhaust and we drove it around for like 45 minutes and the smoke didn't stop

i would recomend taking the head bolts back out and lubing them up. You most likely wont get the right tq reading with the bolts dry.

Yeah, you don't need to remove the head, just the valve cover. Make sure you get some lube on the washers as well.

High quality torque wrench is recommended as well.

well if you had problem with over heat or running way hoter than normal the head is warp. either sell em to me cheap or take it to the machine shop and get it resurface then put it back on there. but wait, check you block for warpage too, aluminum block f$cking suck when it comes to warpage. get it? warp head + warp block = gap = white smoke and oil leaks.

You did say it had a turbo on it right? Maybe the turbo is blown and is sucking coolant into the charge pipe. Just a thought.
