Default H22a overheat on highway

I recently took a two hour trip from jersey to PA and after a while i noticed that my heat gauge was all the way in the red. What could i do to prevent this from happening in the future?

Any leaks? When was the last time you changed your coolant sensor?

I had that same problem. I couldnt figure it out. Turns out it was the rad. cap. Try changing that and see what happens.

Last and hopefully least.......check your head gasket. My lude did the same and lost coolant about a cup a week. Turns out head gasket was leaking into cyl#3. Truly hope this is not your case!!!

hmm...when the t-stat is badm usually the temp only goes up at idle. Going dow the highway, he should have been fine.

I'm not sure I understand that logic. If the thermostat was stuck closed, the problem would be worse on the highways as your engine is running faster generating more heat than at idle.

check all the hoses and look for cracks in the rad. If it's a crack in the rad break and egg into it ! ( Myth Busters are the best )
