99-00 front end
No. this is not a "What parts do i need to do the conversion?" post...I just wanted to know how to tell if a 99-00 front bumper is OEM or not. The replicas look very close to the real ones. Also can i use the 96-98 support beam on a 99-00 bumper?
Thanks
Thanks

Doesn't really make a difference, they're both simply plastic. It's not like a mercedes or volkswagen where knock-off brand panels don't fit - on civics - they fit fine.

Yeah, I've worked at a bodyshop too, if you try knock-off parts on a german car such as a dub, benz, or bimmer, they don't line up worth of ****.
On the other hand, if you try those same parts on a 'teg, accord, or civic, they fit fine.
Though that's just my experience, maybe the company I was dealing with had more exp w/ jap cars - who knows...

Ha, who knows
.
I don't hold grudges though. It's pointless, nothing is gained.
Although I did way too much sanding and buffing and such and not enough actual body work
. I feel I got gyped or something

Yeah, I can't weld, boo @ me

I suppose picking up a torch would help, but I just don't have anything that needs welding...I'ma have to go through my basement tomorrow and see if I can find anything that needs welding - give myself a good excuse to learn.

They do have HONDA stamped on the inside.
Once in the middle of the front bumper it says:
FACE FR BUMPER
71101-S01-ZZ00
MADE IN THE USA
Though this number is similar to a Honda part number, it doesn't match any Honda part number. I would have taken a photo of this number, but it's so small that I couldn't get a clear photo.
Note that this is for an OEM '98 front bumper. So this number won't match to a '99-'00 front bumper either. The part number for the bumper I'm referring to (my OEM '98 bumper) is 04711-S01-A00ZZ. Similar, but not the same, as the number on my bumper.
This is on the bumper in FOUR places. Twice it's stamped as it is here, and twice (under the lower grille) it's stamped as the same, only not as the logo.

My bad, excuse my 2 a.m. post.
But I was right. I did include the information He needed.
And He did ask if he could use the 96-98 bumper support, thus why I told him how many times this has been covered.

Get off my nuts, I was right. I failed to see where you were so helpful except for mistakenly saying I had misinformation. Which I didn't.
