Default 96-98 to 99-00 civic front end conversion question

I have searched this topic and all the write-ups say that you have to change out the front bumper, front grille, fenders, headlights and the hood......My question is has anyone tried just fitting the front bumper and grille from a 99-00 on a 98 hatch? I am just wondering if it fits ok and doesnt look like ****. The reason i ask is b/c someone clipped my front bumper in the parking lot and cracked it so i need to replace the bumper

Then replace just your bumper with another 1996-98. If you put the 1999-00 on yours, the fenders won't match up with the bumper, the headlights will have a gap from the headlight difference, and the grille will be off.

if you get that 99 bumper you will have to change the whole front end.

headlights, bumper, hood, fenders
