The p28 will need to be chipped as it's an ecu for a sohc motor.

It will make any dohc motor run poorly.

The p28 is a popular choice for tuning.

If you want to use a SOHC ECU like the P28 to run a DOHC engine like a B16 then yes you will need to have it chipped.

If your car is the same OBD as the ecu then a P30 will be fine. Make sure you have a knock sensor because the P30 will look for one as the P28 will not look for a KS.

I run a chipped P28. The beauty is a chipped ecu can run a B16, B18A/B/C, B20, LSVTEC, CRVTEC, H22, F22, H2B.......................
Except with IAB Intake manifolds but I think there are plug-ins if you run crome/crome pro.

Damnit you beat me.

A chipped ecu can be set to have vtec and rev limit and governer whereever you want them.

You obviously didn't get it chipped/tuned.

What did you think a sohc ecu was going to do on a dohc engine?

i didnt put the p28 in because i thought it would run right. when i ordered my swap from osake they sent me the wrong ecu and while i had to send that one back and was waiting for my p30 i ran the p28 just to drive it. not like i planned on getting a whole lot of power out of it.
