Default new to H-T

Just wanted to drop a line to say hello to everyone, i've been a long time viewer but never have been much of a poster. i've just been laying low reading up on different topics and making to most of the "Search" function to avoid the common newbie flaming. My newest project is a '92 civic. I bought it a few months ago just after the quaters were redone. The body is solid. Soon i'll be gutting it for paint since the body is yellow, engine bay is black and interior the factory teal. My only problem right now is deciding on a colour. When i finally choose a colour and learn how to post pics, i can start the build thread.
Good day,

Welcome to the site.

Thank you for not posting a dozen pics of your 2-foot wing, body kit, 19" wheels, and mad jdm vtak car, like so many others.

Welcome.

For car colors, be different. Everyone and their mom has a black/white/stock color car. Pick something you don't see often, it's what will set your car apart.

As far as Image hosting, i recommend http://www.photobucket.com

It's the only one I've tried, and it's served me well. Easy to use.

lol,

I like CW as well white cars are easier to keep clean.

Paint it the color you want, don't worry if everyone approves or not.

There isn't a dizzy, and it's a timing chain, not a belt.

I don't own a k20, and have never worked on one. It was safe for me to assume that his timing being off, was from his ignition.

Okay... since you didn't ask a question in your post really, this thread should robably not be in this section. It comes off mostly as an introduction thread. Besides that, asking about colors means it should probably be in Paint & Body or GDD. This section is for tech.

Anyway though... as far as paint colors go, if you want something "unique" don't go with your run-of-the-mill neutral colors. That would be whites, blacks, silvers and grays.

White has the good fortune to hide hairline scratches and some filth such as pollen and dust. Black is lucky in that it looks good when very clean... which is very often is not. Black will show every little scratch and will show a lot of dirt too.

Metallic and pearl colors, particuarlly lighter colors, seem to hide imperfections and some light dirt too. When clean the metallic or pearl might hide those hairline scratches I mentioned earlier.

I've noticed that many reds (not burgundy colors) and yellows seem to appear clean moreso than other colors.

I can drive my red car around with dry muddy water rooster tails down the side and you can't even see it until you soak it down for a wash.

EDIT: And can that photo above get resized? It's making it so you have to scroll over to read the thread.

This is a tech section and since your thread contains no tech, it should not be posted here. This should probbaly just be in GDD, which honestly I don't think you'd want it there.

relax bud, i've already stated that i was introducing myself, im not here to cause problems. Your first post stated "it comes off moslty as an introduction thread". Which it is. If mentioning a colour was that big a problem for you than again, my apologies, however you did give the most insight into colours

I wasn't putting you down. You misread.

I didn't have a problem with posting info about colors. Had I, I wouldn't have posted.
