Default VTEC Not hitting

I dropped a B16a into my 91 rex and am not hitting VTEC. It will run all the way up to rev limiter but doesn't seem to be hitting VTEC. I am running the P30 ecu and me and a friend did a couple hard pulls and then unplugged the solenoid and it felt exactly the same. We cant figure out what the problem might be. If anyone has a idea would love the help and how to fix it. Thanks for the help.

Try taking the vtec solenoid out and see if there's blockage on the screen/gasket..or run a tester on the solenoid lead wire to find out if it's actually getting signal at vtec rpm point. Did you hook up a knock sensor too? I think a P30 requires one..

Is your check engine light on? If so get the code its throwing and go from there, if not just triple check your wiring and make sure everything is good

befor all that check your wires again and if you speedo doesnt work check your vehicle speed sensor then maybe after that check your selenoid. 1st time i did a motor it was the wiring and the 2nd time it was the vss cable was broken
