I want a 5th gen but they cost to much so im thinking of getting a 4th gen(really want a 5th gen =/ but the 4ths in the picture thread look nice lol). Do you guys think a 4th gen is a good car to learn stick in?

Both are great cars...but I have driven both and the 4th gen has the coolest interior and incredible body lines. If you get a 4th gen , try to get a vtec model ...

good luck

I own a 4th gen .. I just have to ask >> have you thought about a 3rd gen at all ?
You can always find a 4th gen later on, but if there is a 3rd gen for sale around your way now .. pick it up. Can't be more than $ 3000 and for that price you can find one close to excellent condition. Ride around stock for awile until you get inspired to do an h22 swap in it. If i was going to shop for a 'lude .. 3rd gen would be my choice.

i got mine for 3500... after all my hard work + registration comes out 4k about

3500 (base price)
registration 587-360 (salvage fees paid by seller) 227
airbags (200)
headlights (100-200)
radiator fans (20$)
turnsignals / sidemarkers (30$)

4100-4200 about.. not that bad imo.. of course if you have to hire a mechanic to install.. thats a bit more.. this wasn't the best projekt lude either.. a while back there was a 5spd pearl white w/ dent on qtr panel + bent valves (low comp in 1cylinder) and a bunch of goodies (i/h/e + solobaric kickers+JVC deck + more) accepting 3k to take home

I would wait a little bit tho, the right car will come by sometime. Dont by a 4th gen just because you dont have enough to get a 5th gen tho. Wait and save up for what you really want. Bottom line, dont settle for less

yeah..but 4ths are faster stock, cheaper to fix, easier to find parts, (i would say older was built better when it comes to cars), and as far as asthetic appearances they look quite a bit different so it comes down to what you like visually aswell.

but like they both said you shouldn't settle for anything. Save up and buy what you want. you'll be happier in the long run.

Just don't jump into things. Have some one look All over it b4 buying. Make sure you can take it for a day or two make sure it doesn't leak any fluids. if They won't let you keep it over night, don't buy it

Every manual transmission is different. Youll get the basics down no matter what kind of a ride you learn in. Youll fine tune your driving for any different car you own. The long and short of it, in my opinion, no one car is better to learn in than another.

pick up a manual shitbox, learn on that and then if you like driving a manual, than go from there.

its not that hard. no sense buying something for a couple hundred or grand that you could be using on an actual decent car.

if possible go driver training with manual lol (last possible option probably)

a class or two and you'd be fine. Just don't kill their car

I learned to drive maunal in my 4th gen. i never had any problems. besides i think that the interior and exterior styling of the 4th gen is nicer that that of the 5th. plus the ladies love the 4th gens, makes um feel like they in a spaceship of love. plus the front seats lay way back, downside is there is the backseat is tiny. only thing that will fit back there is a car seat or someone laying across both seats

Lol 4th gens are kinda like the ugly duckling (not calln them ugly). 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th gens all look like natural progressions lol. WTF happend to the 4th gen?

i love the fourth gen.. ive put shitloads of money into mine and now i might have to sell it.. because it wont pass smog if I go through with my half-done turbo project and I'm moving to CA. The fifth is nice but I'm a fourth gen guy. I originally thought I liked the fifth better and drove them both and the fourth gen just has a way about it.. its more raw and a little louder and feels more like a fast car. Try them both before you make a decision. If you want more comparison info just PM me.

the only prelude i have ever liked better than the 4th gen was the yellow 3rd gen si. don't know why, but that's the only color that ever did anything for me.

if you look at the accords from the same time period, the 4th gen prelude shares a lot of its styling cues. don't know where the styling came from, but that would be my best guess.
