Rod knock 1990 Accord EX
200k on my engine, im getting a low end knock. only right after i let up on the throttle. i can really hear it also when only giving partial throttle with light load on the engine. Its not that loud, bearing has not spun (yet), I want to catch this before serious damage is done and MORE work is needed than suggested below:
Am I correct to assume the rod bearings are on the way out? If so, how difficult of a job would it be to drop the oil pan and replace from underneath?
thanks

You can get a used motor for this car cheap. Most salvage yards want ~$400 for a motor (70K or less miles) and ~$300 (over 100K). The transmission for these cars is what kills your funds... average Auto Tranny is $600-$900!
Just replaced my wifes 97 Accord EX motor that had 187K miles on it. New used motor is great.
