Missing Vin Numbers? Need help
I just currently bought a 2000 ITR shell. The problem I have is the car only has one vin number on the car and it is a sticker on the passenger side. There is no vin on the dash because there isnt no dashboard. There is no vin on the firewall either because it is a rhd converted shell. Where else can I find a vin on the car? I have the title in hand but the problem is how am i suppose to register the car with no vin beside the sticker with the vin number on the passenger side? Is there another vin somewhere that I dont know of. If anyone can lead me to any info would be very helpful. How would I prove that I own that car? Will chp issue me the missing vin on the dash and firewall?
california law requires three vin for the car and all the vin on the car is different, beside one sticker on the door jam that is a sticker. So when dmv does a visual inspection wont they wonder if the car was stolen or not?

aka driving down the road chp pulls your over says pop your hood. see cold air intake but no carb serial gives you a ref ticket. have to put stock airbox and arm back on go to bar and get inspected. refuse a bar ticket is 550 bucks.
once you get bar'd nad passed the inspection take the paperwork to CHP and they will rivet on the vins for a LEGAL looking vin replacement aka will save you alot of time int he future if you get pulled over

****, you guys have it tight over there. I could pretty much blag having no vin numbers over here with the old bill. they never check vins, just reg plate and if it matches your name and address. not even a mot which law requires to be road worthy care about vins really
I just called up chp and they told me that they cant give me a new vin plate on my dash. Maybe the officer was a dick. They just transfer me to the salvage department and no one picked up.
When you say dealer, are you meaning the FACTORY put the sticker on the PASSENGER side? I was never aware that the factory did that. Are there any stickers on the motor or transmission? Or did I miss that explanation?
so do you think i can actually get this resolve? it is just a little confusing depending on who i talk to. Some people said that chp can issue me new vin plates and other chp officers says they cant. The funny thing is they are nice to me about it until they ask me what car I have and I tell them it is a Integra type R then the mood changes.
you know when you buy a car brand new you have vin stickers on each door panels? I assume they are the one that came from the dealer. I dont have the stock engine because it was stolen. Does this make sense?
now here is the part that is kicking my a**. CHP told me I wont be able to register my car unless I can bring in the title of the salvage jdm car that the firewall came from. This seem like it is pretty impossible to get since the car was basically from Japan. Des anyone know how I would obtain one?
