Default Building motor..now head..

ok guys..need ur input.
i'm going to be building a ls motor..
right now, internally, the block (b18b) has oversized civic type r pistons on shaved ls rods.
using the stock ls crank, 3 layer head gasket, and keeping the LS head.
in other words, this setup is not going to be used for boost or LS Vtec.
i have the bottom end built, now i just want to know what cam's would go good with this setup?
i had been looking @ the crower 403's for my current setup (ls motor, internally stock). would these cams be a good choice with the setup i am building?
any input would be appreciated guys!

I'd recommend the Crower cams. A lot of people I've seen that do B20 setups have put Crowers in their B20 head, which is the same as an LS head depending on which one you have (I believe the B20 has a P8R head and so do the newer LSs, could someone let me know if this is accurate?).

Good luck with the build looks good so far. And he's probably keeping the head an LS because LSVTEC is a nightmare.

all motor ls? i've talked to one guy that has done this, he told me he regrets investing all his money into a ls head and not doing an lsvtec instead.

but if this what you want to do, it's cool. i believe majority of the LS builders will say to go with the crower 403's. get some stainless steel valves though. i would just get the flat face, no oversized. supertech

hahaa..
i'm keeping the ls head bc i'm pretty much building this as a "back up" motor with a little more power.
i've had some friends with ls-vtec, and yes, they said they were nigthmares (but i guess that depends on the builder).
so which cams? and i am using a '00 ls head so it should be identical to the b20 head..

hey man all power to you , but why dont you build a "back up" lsvtec instead, you pick up a b16 head for like 300 complete.

403's are a good choice. id still rather have vtec with a set of cams over ls head.
