What sort of engine management are you running? There really isn't any one specific fuel pressure that someone can recommend without seeing what your A/F curve looks like, and on a modified D-series setup such as the one you presumably have, more tuning than a simple adjustable FPR is preferred.

Factory pressure is from 42-49psi for a d16, and many other cars will yield similar pressures. Ask yourself why you are running rich. What did you do?

I believe he meant 10.5:1 compression.

Again, is this the only tuning device you have? If so, you should really invest in some engine management and proper tuning. What is the rest of your setup like?

yeah well i just got back together and back in and running. was hopeing i wouldnt have to by an ems but if that happens, ok. lets see, high compression srp pistons on eagle rods, 3 angle valve job, port matched and polished head, skunk2 intake manifold with 65mm str trottle body, dc 4 to 1 headers, aem fuel filter rail and regulator, thats just the beginning. what do you think??

I think you could certainly benefit from some real tuning.

An V-AFC would be okay, assuming it's tuned correctly, but a chipped ECU used with a good tuning application would be much better. Is your car OBD-1?
