b16 turbo or h2b
okay i have been trying to decide for a while now what to do i have a 93 dx coupe that i swaped a b16 into now im in a strugle between slightly building the b16 and turboing it or just usingthe tranny i have and get an h22a withthe h2b conversion kit and turboing that... but if i do the h2b im not going to do the rods or pistons kinda just wondering if the h2b and the b16 will be fairly matched after all is said and done even though i wont be able to push as many psi in the h22 as the b16 and the b16's red line is so much farther than the h22...? i also have been looking for some time threw the forums and havent seen any thing about how the h2b kit handles turbos. i have yet to see any one who has posted a forum on the subject if any one knows of one please let me know so i can read it ,thanks. im basically ready to either order a **** load of parts for the b16 and start the build or buy a h22 and some parts... some suggestions would be nice... thanks not totally sure if this should be in this section of h-t ...

h2b's are fun but if u want boost go with that. i have a h2b in my wagon its fast but I LOVE BOOST..
H2b!! You'll be making the same power with a non turbo h2b as a turbo'd b16.
There are plent of turbo H2bs on here. All you have to do is SEARCH.

...are you series? the h2b pushes no more horsepower than a h22 which is no more than 190 to the wheels. yes it has torque. unlike the b16a but at 8-10 psi depending on what turbo he uses he can be pushing 300 horsepower with the b16a.

If you want to match an NA H2B with a turbo B16, you do what a automotive engineer would do - go with a smaller turbo (like a GT28R or a 50trim T3), then have >25% more whp while still having good response (low lag). But be warned, uou may have to do the most amazingly crazy thing that a HT member could do - push something smaller than a t3/t04e 50trim OVER 10psi wiht a bigger MAP sensor.
The problem with the way people see lag, throttle response, and a small turbo @ higher psi VS a big NA motor: you only need a few psi at lower rpm to shoot over the big NA motor's torque number, and from then on, you're set even if torque drops off.

he said the B16 will be mild built. he can reach 400whp with that setup. stock h2b won't come close to that, and with turbo, maybe he could but i doubt the stock ringlands will like it. i suggest you just build that b16.

i say all motor h2b...i/h/e good tune..easily 12s like nothing...h2b is the way to go...and for the people...of course it's going to still be aroud 200 hp..all you're changing is the tranny...but a more aggressive tranny is what the h22 needs to unleash it's powers!!

You better believe mine was stock, unless you want to count ITR cams.
