tuned lean for mpg?

Default tuned lean for mpg?

has anybody intentionally tuned their car to run lean all the time for max mpg??

You'd have to tune for a proper a/f ratio, but you'd have to lean out air and fuel and change compression to do that.

It could be done. You'd have less power.

honda did, lean burn on the vtec-e engines, you won't get any better than that.

IIRC the p07 leans the engine out up to 17:1afr

But I don't really recommend playing with this unless you REALLY know what you're doing.

If you want better gas mileage I'd recommend doing a warm air intake to fool the IAT to lean your afr for you. Then work on decreasing drag and increasing aerodynamics. This are a hell of a lot simpler and effective than hacking the fuel and ignition maps.

You want the best gas mileage, stay at stoch (14.7)

I would think modifying your driving style could have a much more significant effect on your mileage.
