i have an obd1 jdm b16a, i am gunna put it in a 97 del sol si, so my question is should i used the stock obd2 engine wire harness or the obd1 wire harness on the engine? if i used the obd2 engine wire harness i would have to convert the diz and the injectors... then which ecu should i use? i have an obd1 p28 and an obd2 p28 i know that if i used the obd1 ecu i would need a conversion harness i'm aware of this already... which is the best way to go?

 

im in this same spot as you atm i have a 93 hatch but has a 99 si wire harness threw out the whole car now i just put a turbo in and need to get the car tuned and put my p28 obd1 ecu in . so yea if you plan on doing some upgrades i would go with obd1 makes things easy for you tunner and your pockets

 

so either would work correct?.. i would just use the obd2 ecu with an obd2 harness and an obd1 ecu with an obd1 harness.. correct me if i'm wrong.

 

u can keep the harness in your car but you will need to get a ecu adaptor harness to run obd1
