Ok, basically I was driving and my car died all the sudden. When I turn the key, the engine will turn, ignition seems fine, but it just wont start.
I believe it might be something electrical because my boost controller, and boost gauge, and egt do not light up. My radio, headlights and all work fine.
I just installed my HID's this morning, but I really dont think that has anything to do with it since it was a straight foward install and the lights still work. I checked all the fuses under the hood and they seem fine. What could possibly be wrong? Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you.

what power source are you using for those 3 items. Also, check to see if you are actually getting spark out of your plugs. Also, off topic, how do you like those HIDs? Do they work as well as OEM HIDs on BMWs and lexus'.

how do I check the spark?? The hids are great, 4300 phillip kit. Ok, i need to get my car running. I just got back home. All the fuses under the hood release dont seem to have significance in performance since they are little things like radio, lights and they all seem to be working.
Imma go get started.

Ok, i found the problem. I keep blowing the fuse under the dash for the (ig) spot. Why does it keep blowing right when I turn the key? I tried a 30, a 20 and they all blew. What causes this? Please help. Thank

thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate? Does the ground have something to do with this? Everything is grounded good IMO. I just blew out a bunch more fuses trying this stuff out.
Damn i love this.

You have a power wire somewhere in that circuit that is being grounded. It is probably pinched or has worn through and touching something. I know this because this **** just happened to my car and it took me a week to find the problem. Good luck finding the short. I would check the wires from the gauges, boost controller, etc. first and look for wire pinched or worn through.
when you did your HID installation is there any wire that needs to be tapped into an ignition source? maybe you need a relay somewhere.

check all your wiring for the hid system, me thinks you have a crossed wire.

Hmmm... if you don't think its related to the HIDs then the next course of action should be to dissonnect any aftermarket parts that are tapped into the IG circuit... you said that you have 3 items in that circuit - the boost controller. boost gauge, and EGT gauge, correct? Try disconnecting these from the IG circuit and try starting the engine (with good fuse, of course). If this works then try adding back the boost controller, boost guage and EGT gauge one at a time. Sooner or later the fuse will pop again and you'll have your culprit...

thanks for the replys. They are greatly appreciated. So far I have regrounded the hid's to the battery. This problem only happened after I installed the hid's today, but it does not seem to be coming from that. Before I had no problems tapping all the other components to the same source. Actually they were all tapped to the fuel pump relay
Thanks again. Now time to try it out

ok, problem solved. My boost gauge was causing all the headaches. I bought the gauge used and it did not come with a harness so I tried to fabricate a harness ghetto style. It worked up until today till it broke and both the positive and negative wires touched. The gauge works fine, but doesnt light up anymore
Neway, I love my HID's.

BTW - who is that in your avatar??? Even with that tiny pic she looks hella fine... tired of squinting my eyes trying to figure it out ....
I think she looks better in my avatar than blown up, but its still doable
