Default identify parts..

i had bought a car from a guy and he told me in person what all the engine had but i forgot if he said anything about pistons.. i really wanna boost it but i had a bad experiance when i bought a ls engine with b16 pistons that i boosted and it blew quickly. Now the guy wont respond to emails or phone calls. the motor runs strong no doubt about it but my question is. how could i tell if the pistons are high or low compression?

things i remember: cam, valve train, somthing about the cranks, lightweight flywheel and 6 puck clutch
