Default B18A1 shortblock/longblock the difference?

Hi after searching im going to post my first, if its found somewhere in here forgive me as Im not an expert at motor building and the lingo! I am going to pick up a B18a1 from the junk yard to to do a LS/vtec conversion on. I was wandering if there is a way to know the difference if its a long or short block? or did they only come one way? Thanks in advance!

Long block = Head, block, pistons, crank, oil pan, etc. Basically a complete motor

Short block = Block, pistons, crank, oil pan.

yep.. and if your going to do an ls/vtec setup than all you need is the ls short block, and you'll have to buy a vtec head separate
