Lots of weight in uneven places? Sounds like they have some more R&D to go before marketing to the mainstream. Has potential though...

Max torque off idle = wheelie time!

that's pretty interesting Iv see it before but not on a sport bike. Idk if I could ever see myself riding one tho, I mean no exhaust, no shifting it seems like it would just take away from the fun for riding for me

cool, but these new advances seem like they will take the fun away from driving/riding.

I love being in control. I don't want the machine to drive it self basically.

and the electric whine of the motor is super annoying.

Petroleum based fuel may not be an affordable option one day, good mileage or not.

I find the majority of aftermarket exhausts a lot more annoying than an electric whine.

Whether we like it or not, alternative fuels are a major part of the transportation future. I love everything that gasoline powered vehicles offer but in terms of fuel availability and cost in the next 50 years, I don't feel like things will get any better. I in part sold my 748 to pursue a WVO (waste vegetable oil) diesel project. I know it's not the answer that some of the diehard ecofriendly folks are seeking but I feel that I would be helping some instead of hurting.

My whole point here is that we are quick to write off things that are new and different. Given the time and r+d to develop, they have the opportunity to be just as cool.

yeah i concur, i needs a transmission and though lithium is sweet, i don't think the world is ready for it. sure you can go 75miles but how long does it take to recharge it? how much does that thing weigh VS stock? Technology is getting close

gasoline engines were anything BUT efficient in our terms today when they were introduced early on. like Ash said, time and money and almost anything can be viable.

for looking for new ways to get from A to B.
