intake manifold bore
i have a b18a1 and i was told instead of buying a intake manifold i can get my stock one bored out. Is this true? and will it work as good as a proformance one? Also if boring it is better how much do you bore it over? any feed back would be great
Ported... you want the manifold ported.. things that are perfectly round can be bored... like cylinder walls, throttle bodies, and holes for telephone poles and door *****

that's good stuff
basically gritty paste forced into a manifold under pressure. The cool thing is that it ports the places with more restriction more than those that flow more naturally.

Unless you are currently pushing your engine to the limit I don't think you need to bore/extrude hone your manifold. For little effort you can port match your intake manifold to the throttle body and intake ports of the head, as well as remove any remaining casting material.

If so, you are out of luck for getting a single runner stock manifold without buying a aftermarket unit such as skunk2.

so i should port it out? or should i go with a skunk2? i am going to turbo this thing later this summer but for now i am looking to just add simple easy power. i have a full catback exhaust. i am not doing headers thou b/c of my turboin it. So port it? what else could i do to add power simple power. as of right now i want an intake manifold and i am getting it tuned and the ecu rewriten/ reflashed what ever u want to call it. Any suggestions would be great!! thanks for the help so far.
you can usually pick up the skunk2 on a deal pretty cheap... porting would cost close to the same (for good work, not just a gasket match)
just go skunk2 if you want a stock style manifold that flows better

Victor X is about the best plenum style intake you can buy out of the box... Especially if you plan on FI later on.
