only one axle, is it safe?
is it safe to move my car back and forth a couple feet with only one axle (passenger side)? it also does not have tranny fluid at the moment and is missing the rear mount bracket. am i looking a some big problems if i put the car in gear and move it in and out of my driveway slowly? ive done it about 2-3 times already and it seemed fine. i just want to make sure its not gonna fudge anything up. any info or suggestions is appreciated
yea but being that its a few feet, i dont think theres much friction going on in the trans. or am i mistaken?? i understand that the motor needs oil due the the pistons constantly moving is this the same case with the trans? i just need to get it moving until i can get that dam drivers axle to fit and im unable to push the car with that one axle in.

If it has a helical LSD, it still won't move.
If it has a clutch-pack LSD, it will move.

It will be fine a few feet, the worse part is that since you have no axle installed in your hub you have no preload on the wheel bearing which can destroy it if you move the car aound alot.

</TD></TR></TABLE>lol i think you guys miss the part where i said the axle in the tranny has rendered the car unmovable (except when on and in nuetral) but thanks for all the info guys, <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by bagpipe goatee »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Yeah. REMOVE THE OTHER AXLE. move the car back and forth. that's what an ebrake is for!</TD></TR></TABLE>holy crap.....you know, i never thought of that...your a freakin genius!!! anyways, thanks for supporting my laziness guys, the car has been imobile for about 10 months now and i was just getting a little excited seeing it move again. oh and i forgot to mention, my garage is slanted so light car or not, when a crx is equiped with a gsr and is on a slanted driveway...its a heavy bitch to push (and im 6' 230 lbs.), but not impossible. i'll just move my lazy *** until i get that axle probem corected (which i still havnt found the solution!!)
I think you should blow it, get a big sheet of your moms bed and tie it to the front of your car and then get a big, big fan and blow your car where ever you want to.
It'll work I promise!
