Default Ebay Air Intakes on my 92 EX

Hey guys. im new here.

So ive been lookin at my car and i was thinking a intake would be a nice addition.

But i also think that spending $200 on one just isnt worth it on my car.

If i bought an ebay intake what are some of our opinions about em. or mabye some pros and cons?

Since you you do not live in CA, I think eBay intakes are ok. Since I think cops and the state is cool without the CARB sticker. (Correct me If I'm wrong)

eBay intakes are great for low budget. Most people buy those and get k&N filters. Because those that come with the filter are crap!!!!! There are some sellers who sell it with K&N.

As for installation, the mounting looks really bad. Looks like they went to HomeDepot and just bought random brackets. And those intake I believe do not come with instructions... Bad for first time intake installers.

I suggest finding a used AEM intake or Injen. They come with the proper mounting. I just bought a used AEM CAI for my 96 Accord for $50 including ship. Not bad.

I used to have an ebay intake on my 92 Accord. It was one of the ones that is short ram and had an extension for cold air. Fitment was great and installation is self explanatory. Just make sure you get a good filter like The-Kid stated. I recommend S&B or K&N.

Short ram stays in the engine, cold air runs under the engine. Go with the ebay intake and get a filter. This is not a part you want to be spending $200+ on

Yes, it will still make noise. I would go short ram. If you go cold air you will need to cut a hole in your car and you risk hydrolocking.

Why do you need to cut a hole?

Is the setup that much different than a 94-97?

Remove the resonator from behind the bumper and put the piping down there.

There's only so many ways to make a pipe lol, you should keep that in mind.

An ebay pipe with good filter is fine

I believe the hole there is to small. Of course it's been a long time, I remember busting out the sawzall though.

Unless I'm way off (total possibility) you could go with a CAI and be just fine. I'm from the Rainy State as well. Unless the setup on the '92 is way off from that of a '96 then your good. I wouldn't be too worried about hydrolock. But it's all opinion there are different benefits to SRI and CAI. Go with what fits you best, i.e. budget, time, car.
