i've been giving some thought on making my own hybrid engine harness for my 90 rex. i searched here but couldn't find it or maybe i didn't word it right in the search engine. can someone point me the right way or link me.
i first i want to use the 5th gen engine harness on my eingine, but i want to used the 4th gen end connecter at the strut mount. i understand the i won't be able to connect all the wires like the map/tps/eacv/iat w/the connecter. but i can connect them w/my ODB0 to ODB1 harness jumper at the strut to make it a bit clean and i don't have a **** load of wires laying around.
so please any ideas if i should attemp it. thanks

The generally accepted way to accomplish what you're trying to do it is to take your engine harness and add to it whatever it dosen't have. I haven't tried to do what you're talking about on a Honda but I did on a Mazda and it was a big mistake, spent many many months trying to figure out where all the wires that the various chassis plugs needed were, I went back to the stock harness, added what it needed, and never looked back. Same thing everyone does with Hondas, and I'd assume for the same reason.
Is that a DPFI harness? I don't see any injector plugs so I'm assuming its the DPFI and they're behind something.
If so search for MPFI conversion and it'll show you what you need to do to your harness. Specifics are gonna depend on what engine/ecu are going into it though.

yeah i probly did explain it all. ok i have a ODB0 to ODB1 ecu jumper. it has all the colourful wires coming out of it which all go to diiferent sensors. i'm slappin in my rex D16a6 but using a P06 ecu. the main reason is cause i'm keeping it non-vtec and i want to be able to use crome pro for future itbs. now from the instruction it made it seems the will be alot of wires hanging around. i really don't want that i want to keep it neat. since i have a 5th gen head w/all attachments and what not. wouldn't it be simple to connect the engine harness as it a 5th gen then splice it by the shock mount connecting the 4th gen shock mount connecter. then the sensors that are not connected, connecet it to the ecu jumper there. nice and neat, near the firewall.
what loose wires will you have? the best thing to do to make it look nice and stock is swap over the plugs from the harness side of the distributor to the A6 harness. Also you will have to extend the fan switch wiring from the back of the block to the thermostat housing. You will also have to wire up the 4 wire O2. You can also swap the OBD1 plugs from the fuel injector harness over to the OBD0 harness I believe. With some nicely placed wire loom it will look neat and stock.

As I said before MPFI swap is the first part of this.

Thats a writeup on the MPFI swap.
Generally OBD-0 to OBD-1 ECU jumpers only have the extra OBD-1 wires, so you're gonna need to do MPFI first (on the OBD-0 plugs), then that'll get converted to OBD-1. Make sure my asumptions are correct though, if your ecu jumper acctually has the MPFI wires also then you're all set. Just run all the wires into the factory harness and loom them up all nice and pretty.

I don't know how much into wiring you are, but if it looks like too much work check out Rywire. They can take your harnesses, and make you a nice pretty one that'll look stock. Top quality work, so you'll never have to worry about anything. They're also really helpfull if you have any questions about this.

i did already did. lol.
Remo, I can make it all plug and play for you, its super easy to install, just plug and go! I will need your dpfi engine harness, and a obd1 harness to borrow plugs from. The price is 300, and that includes the dpfi to mpfi, and the ecu jumper from 0-1.... its all you will need to go obd1, and mpfi. The addy is on the homepage, and we take moneyorder, or creditcard
