91 Civic lx won't start
As posted earlier my 91 civic 1.5 dual point 5 spd. won't start. I was driving and it just quit. I checked the ecu and no codes. You suggested a blown head gasket. If the car had a blown head gasket wouldn't it still run although badly. I pulled the plugs one at a time to check spark and I had combustion at the mouth of the sparkplug well on the valve cover. It happened on the first compression stroke of each cylinder and only happened once. All the plugs were dry and burning the off white color. No water or oil in the combustion chamber. It seems I'm not getting fuel to the cylinders. I hear the whirring of the fuel pump and the click when I turn the car to on. My question is what would prevent fuel from getting to the cylinders and not put an error code on the ECU? Also when I turn the car on I get a short flash on the ecu which you said indicates that the ecu is booting. If the ECU boots does that mean it will always work or just because power is going to it it could still malfunction. The no error codes have me puzzled. Thanks for any input
