Default Yellow/white electrical wire for car stereo dead -- not red one or anything else on fuse

Hi there,

I'm a bit puzzled at this:

92 Honda Accord

The yellow & white power wire for the car stereo stopped working. It's the main power source -- the one that stays on after the car turns off so that the memory stays and the unit has a chance to power down properly.

Right now I have the red wire spliced to both power inputs on my deck, but i lose everything every time i turn the car off.

Any ideas what would cause this one wire to fail and not the others?

Or, is there another source I could run a wire to that remains on after the ignition is shut off?

I pulled some strange plastic box that had a coiled wire inside it that was in between the stereo and the power source on said yellow/white wire -- I think it was put there by a tape deck installer from years ago -- or maybe its crucial and it failed and its why its not working.

Any tips appreciated.

did you check the radio fuse in the fuse box? if not blown then rewire it , one wire needs constant power and the other need to be a switched power sourse to work properly! the red on the deck will need the constant power.
