Type R does not want to rev
I'm trying to finish my ITR rebuild. I'm running a 1998 ITR chassis with an OEM ITR replacement block. I'm running a stock ITR ECU. I am currently getting a CEL but it is only for no secondary o2 (not running a cat). The only mods to the car are an Injen intake (no filter on the end of the tube yet), 4-1 header with 2.5" collector, and kteller 2.5" exhaust piping to a twin loop muffler. Other than, the car is bone stock.
The problem is that when I try to rev the car with anything more than about 10% throttle the car does not want to rev (just as bad while driving). In the video here that I have posted the first two revs were with about 5-10% throttle. The third time I rev the car it is floored.
I have replaced the fuel filter today thinking that might be the problem. I also pulled the fuel pump and inspected the sock and pump for any obstructions. I am also planning on putting new spark plugs in today as well. What do you guys think?

i love the little random baby part on the end of the video
i really don't know dude, not come across this sort of problem before
have you tried a different ECU in it?

no, the ecu being in limp isn't that drastic, Brad i had similar stuff going on a couple weeks back with the built motor and it ended up just being a spark plug. put new ones in and the next time i drove it to my mothers house for dinner, did the same thing when i started my car up to drive it home. i popped the hood and pushed all the SP wire down and wiggled them around and it sorted itself out. so i'm either fouling plugs or have a bad wire somewhere i'm not sure... it's driving normal and strong ATM though.
P.S. sucks driving across town on 3 cylinders
pretty sure it has something to do with the plugs or plug wires. if it's not it's definitely the cheapest place to start your checklist

i would double check the timing, make sure the belt is installed correctly, and make sure the MAP and TPS plugs are not reversed
reversing the plugs is the easiest thing to do when putting a B back together........ friggin had me stumped for 2 days on a friends car until i finally realized it and felt stupid as hell......... ran similar to yours but i think your car may end up being a timing issue.......... stupid honda for making the 2 plugs the same and so close to each other

i've had exact same problem. felt so stupid...
but when those 2 are switched .. there's like almost a rev limiter and it bounces back down.. it didn't seem like it was doing that. but couldn't hurt to check those 2 sensors at all
good luck

Whens the last time the cap and rotor were replaced? Grab a volt meter and check the ICM/coil also (or just swap with someone's else dizzy for temp purposes).
As previously stated, check your distributor cap/button/plugs/wires/ICM/coil... Also, check your TPS. I had the EXACT same problem with my ITBs on my Civic, the TPS was so messed up, that COMPLETELY UNPLUGGING it, would allow the car to rev without doing what your car is doing.
Just something to try.

brad,
how old is the gas in the tank?
i had issues with bogging when i started mine up and i replaced the fuel filter and drained the ANCIENT gas out of the tank and put in a few gallons of fresh 93 octane.

I believe the problem to be the gas. I have orange floating flakes in the gas and it is very cloudy. The tank was bone dry when I bought the car and just put gas in it. I'll pull the tank and flush a few good times. Where do you dispose of "bad gas"?

I pulled the tank this morning and there is all kinds of orange Georgia clay looking mud crap in the bottom of the tank. I tried spraying two cans of brake cleaner inside of the tank along with a some gas, mix it around, and then dump it out. It keeps getting better and better but I see no end the crap in the tank. I found a guy local parting out a 96 Integra (was just wrecked) so I think I'm just going to try to get his tank instead trying to clean out my tank. Thanks for all of the help

Won't be the same if it's not an ITR tank, I wouldn't do it.

Brad,
If it helps, i had the spark plugs, ignition wires, destributor cap all replaced back in Feb 2006 by an Acura Dealer: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1529028
Good luck with everything!

ecu is in limp mode. noticed check engine light on. find out why light is on. best thing to do is make jumper to obd 1 and tune the ecu. you can disable the o2 and set the fuel and spark map the way you want. also get lots of power
