After seeing this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1995196 It made me think back to when I had my first SV and needed a rear stand. Instead of using two bar stools & some textbooks(which looks quite shady IMO) I made this one found on SVrider.com. I used it fow about 1 yr, then sold my SV, but now my friend ahs been using it still for over 2 yrs.

ya it says that in the link. My bad, I did read the info as I already have stands. All i did was see the pic of the stand with the grooves cut out and jumped to conclusions, lol.

dumb question, but has anyone made a front stand?

 

My rear stand is a 3-ton car jack placed under the swingarm, where the shock linkage crossmember is. Works just fine as long as you keep the bike leaned over onto the kickstand (with a piece of wood underneath it).

For a front stand, just do the same as for the rear stand, but have a friend sit on the seat, or push down on the tail. That puts the rear tire on the ground, thus lifting the front up off the ground. Or, throw a tie strap or two over a solid tree limb or truss in a garage and lift the front up that way.

I swapped both my front and rear wheels this way in 5 minutes. Also replaced my steering bearings no problem. Nothing like being broke .

You know you have problems when you can't even build the $20 rear stand.

found these for a pretty good price. local pick up $125 for front head/fork stand(comes with conversion) and rear stand.

there's a vendor on ebay named T-rex, not sure for exact ebay ID.. but he sells front and rear stands for about 100 bucks. 75+25 shipping... very good product. fully painted, ive been using mine for years. worth every penny.

ya but is the front stand fork and head convertible?

 

what do you mean by convertible? i know you can opt another 15-20 bucks for the tripple clamp stands.

meaning you can either use the lift off the forks, or the head. can convert from head lift to fork lift.

 

Sick idea . . . in for when I actually have time to look into this. Haha.
