Default Re-applying Clear on Valve Cover?

Can I go re-apply clear even after its been driven on for like 10 minutes and I think it was about 2-3 days ago. Anything special I need to do?

you might want to give it a real light wet sanding to make sure its clean and a good surface for the clear to adhear to
