Three or four years ago my employer was in the news for money scandals. Our budget was screwed and as a result I (among others) was cut to 20 hours a week. It was at this time that I was about to buy a mint 1997 ITR that only had 30 miles on it! Some of you may remember TOO (Endyn) selling it. I put in an offer and TOO was interested but then the job thing happened.
Fast forward to the present. I'm now in a stable full time job and in a position to buy a 1997 ITR. Does anyone know of one with a clean title/no accidents or excessive modifications? I would prefer a stock 97 ITR, or maybe even a clean 1998 ITR.
I used to own a 1997 but it was a horrible car. This particular 97 had a 2000 GSR interior and 2000 ITR drivetrain. It was a stolen recovery rebuilt with parts from other GSRs and ITRs. It drove horribly and I did not feel safe in that car. Luckily I was able to return it to the used car dealer with no penalty after a few days.
Can my dream car become a reality?

I would rather have one with the original drivetrain. Not sure how much of a hassle it would be to smog an R with a JDM engine in California.

I keep teetering with the idea of selling my '97 with 82k. It's always been 100% stock down to the RE010's with no visual defects. I've autocrossed it in DS for three years and never had any major issues.
I'm the second owner since 24,000 miles and the car has always been a NC car.
I'd probably let it go for around $15-16k and replace it with an E46 M3 or AP2 S2000.

There is one for sale here locally. 19k on the clock
Guy has just been storing the car, but now needs the room. I'll be meeting up with him tomorrow to go over the details. Most likely, I'll make his FS post for him.
