Default 3rd gen looking for swaps

hello im searching for my cous, trying to help him out.
now he has bought this 87 or 88 accord hatch. it looks ok he's so in love with it now he has dropped the car, new coat of primer, and muffler so far its ok.
Now he's trying to figure out whats an easy swap for this car?
Im helping him out as well i have done swaps before, like zc swap in my old dx and mini me in my olders brothers hatch.
Like will a b16a obd0 work, or zc?

not too many of these accords are left out there. I would say go for an H22. I would think that 3rd gen accords are going to need some amount of modification to do a swap. So if you're going to do the work you might as well go all out.

man that would be a total sleeper if you did the h22.

heck yea itll be turning heads a 3rd gen hatch going pretty quick w/ h22 but its too hefty for his budget right now.
So far hes saved 2360 for an engine swap.
Thats why im asking if a b16a obd0 will work, or zc engine?
Were looking for something that drops in a ease, but were ok w/ major mods on accesories and etc.
Like his goal for now have something dropped in and boost w/ proper tuning. The engine he'll spend from 300 - 2000 or so, my guess.
Its just that he's happy w/ his lil car

i didnt even think motor mounts for swaps on the 3rd gen accord were available. Let alone produced for that matter. I would think just about any swap you do on that car is going to involve custom motor mounts.

i could be mistaken though. i'd say do some research. which is going to be difficult given the fact that H-T has little experience with the 3rd gens.

B series was the swap it seemed most people did but the place making the mounts is no longer making them or has gone out of business. You could try to find a used set of those B series motor mount kits for sale somewhere and go that route.

An H series swap would be pretty involved for this year car and a tight fit I'm guessing. Aside from custom motor mounts you would also have to cut the floor of the car and mount the prelude or accord shifter assembly since the H series uses a cable shift linkage and the older Accords use a rod shift linkage like the Civic and Integra do.

Yeah, there used to be a B16 swap for them. Haven't seen it in a while.

You can also try to source a JDM B20 from a 2nd gen Prelude or 3rd gen Accord. Straight swap in drop for the most part.
