I was at Napierville dragway last night and witness a DAMN fast EG coupe. The windshield said worlds fastest SOHC honda But I thought Bisi was the fastest? I watched then run 9.99..the weirdest part was it was even a D series SOHC..not even a F22 single cam. It was an A20 sohc out of a second gen prelude Si. ITB/turbo/direct port nitrous. the motor was bolted to an ITR trans. I know that 9.99 is pretty damn close if it isn't the fastest SOHC honda. Everyone freaked out on the race team (Honda lle Perrot) when he ran it. So is it the fastest run, anyone know? here are some pics of the car I took.

 

i could of swore jason whitfield had the fastest sohc but that was back in the day and i think he was d-series then also

 

Those motors also came in the 3rd gen accords.

well here in Puerto Rico we ran 9.96 with a D series years ago, it was also in some of the clutch master promo. it was a 94 black civic turbo NOS set up

 

bisi did his 9sec pass all motor........... you can say that bisi's car is the fastest ALL MOTOR sohc.

 

and jasons whitfields car was 1.5l non vtec i believe

 

Bisi's all motor car ran in the 9's already he is still the fastest single cam motor for all motor class. But then again that's like comparing a apple to a orange Bisi's car is a all motor drag car and the car your talking about has power adders to it. So I guess its between what Jason ran back then and what dude said from Puerto Rico. I wouldn't go around claiming it though tell I no for sure. Fast *** car.

well to inlighten you all we went 9.93@143 last season in the prelude. and right bisi's car did go quicker but not faster and he's also all motor. we went 9.99@153mph last night. I guess it's hard to actually determine who's faster since their two different classes.

 

I love these SOHC cars, they are the biggest slap in the face to the stereo-typical setups out there.

Not really...the one pictured is pretty much a Hot Rod class car, where it would get spanked. Hell even in Turbo Street or SFWD, which it is not legal for, it might not be the quickest car out there.

Bad *** though, congratulations.

I hate posts like this. Everybody gives props for a crew that built a HR class car that just breaks into the nines.
No one cares whats under the hood when you get spanked by 1.5 seconds from a guy that built a better motor.

I sure as hell miss mine. I wish I still had it or should I say I wish that I never blew it. I LOVE the SOHC. They're awsome.

 

Yep we still holding the record for the ET / MPH at an event. 10.23 / 10.18 143.59 &gt; This was done in late 98 early 99 car was a true SOHC D series 75 mm bore stock stroke and the weight was alittle over 2000 w/driver. ZexMan recently beat the MPH record which I bekieve was 149 ? in testing again he is or was a true SOHC D series.

But the coupe is super nice and really fast
