CEL from Intake
I've heard if i put an intake on my car it will cause a check engine light to go off. I've had intakes on all my other cars, but they don't have an sensor on the bottom like my 04 Civic DX does. Is that the MAF sensor? and if so, is there a particular brand of intake i should buy that will prevent the CEL?
I tried searching so if this topic has been covered, if someone could just post a link and lock it, that would be great.

so all intakes should have a connection for that right? i was looking at the images from the cheap ones on ebay and i didn't see anything. but if i buy an injen intake, it'll definalty have it?

that sensor is the intake manifold temp sensor u can be a jerk and leave it jus like ziptied off out of the way but odds are you will proly get bad reading to ecu and will *** with ur A/F ratio in the ecu...jus get acheapy intake and k/n filter and if the cheapy dont have a hole...take the rubber grommet out of the stock intake, drill hole a lil smaller than grommet , pop grommet in cheap intake and push the sensor into the intake piping...dont turn car on while sensor is out or u will get a CEL. cel FTW! need more details on this proceedure jus pm me my buddy had to intall his intake sensor himself cuz he used a 2000 intake. very easy tho
Yea, when I had a 99 Si I got in an accident and my intake cracked. The seal around the sensor was broken and that threw a CEL. But pretty much anything will have that built in. It wont throw a CEL.
