Ever heard of tube seals?
A co-worker took her Odyssey to the dealer for a regular service. Here is a comment from the Service Report on a line titled "Upper Gaskets".
#4 plug wire slight oil soaked - ?tube gasket seals
I am not sure if gasket belongs between there but it is just above "tube seals" between them. Anyone have any idea what this might be?

There are small gaskets that sit on top of the spark plug holes (between the hole and the valve cover) that prevent oil from entering them and getting down to the spark plug. In this case, they're using "tube" to describe the hole the spark plug is down in.
The tube seals keep oil from getting into the sparkplug tubes. They go in the valve cover. The 'upper gasket' probably means the valve cover gasket.
Thanks. So the seals are between the valve cover and the head around the spark plug tubes. Therefore the valve cover has to be removed to replace them. Might as well replace the valve cover gasket at the same time. Is that correct?

What year is the Odyssey??? Some honda engines have o-rings or what are commonly called tube seals located at the bottom of the spark plug tubes.(These are not the valve cover gasket grommets for the sparkplugs) Replacing all the valve cover gasket seals in the world wont stop the oil leak into the plug holes if this is what the dealership was referring to...
