So the castle nut came off and the whole assembly scraped on the ground while you were driving?

Doesn't the castle nut just screw onto the ball joint? If so, couldn't you just get a new ball joint?

I would assume all EF's, since you can use mostly the same suspension components. If possible, stick to 90-91 hatches just to be sure until you can find out for sure.

you can probably use parts from a 2nd gen crx as well, i had the same thing happen to me except the people i got the car from used a diff. nut and didnt bother with the cotter pin. i got around for a while like that. depending on how fast you were going would mostly determine whether there was any damage to your spindle. was just turning in a parking lot slowly(i previously lost traction in a stretch of the parking lot before the incident) if you weren't going very fast you shouldnt have to worry about anything but the ball joint.

any 88-91 spindle will work, with the single exception being the 88-91 crx hf spindles, which use different axles.
