i need new spindle
hey so i was driving and pulled a u turn, the bolt thats screwed into the ball joint came off and the spindle dropped and everything. im going to the junk yark tomorow so do you think i should find a ball joint or a spindle and im thinking about getting the full on spindle so what cars can i take the spindle from. my car's a 91 hatchback si.
this is gunna sound dumb but i didn't put the castle nut on, i put a different bolt on but ya that's what happened. and the part that the castle nut screw onto is trashed and it wont work anymore
that's wut im hoping for but i gotta check out the whole thing tomorow cuz it got too dark. but if the spindle is messed up, what cars can i use it from.
I would assume all EF's, since you can use mostly the same suspension components. If possible, stick to 90-91 hatches just to be sure until you can find out for sure.
you can probably use parts from a 2nd gen crx as well, i had the same thing happen to me except the people i got the car from used a diff. nut and didnt bother with the cotter pin. i got around for a while like that. depending on how fast you were going would mostly determine whether there was any damage to your spindle. was just turning in a parking lot slowly(i previously lost traction in a stretch of the parking lot before the incident) if you weren't going very fast you shouldnt have to worry about anything but the ball joint.
