Default Koni Yellow Inserts

Sorry. Just don't know to much about struts. So I'm looking to get the Koni Yellows, but not sure why it's called an insert. The one website said "Special McPherson strut insert bolted into O.E. housing after cutting top and removing old internal parts." I have KYBs on now and not really happy with them. On this website they have 55mm outside diameter. I can't remember what the KYBs are...any help is appreciated. Thanks. Dustin

you'll probably have to do em in stock housings if you want them to fit right. I doubt the KYB housing is exactly the same. Just measure the diameter of the housing above the spring seat.

So what exactly am I gonna have to cut? Any specialty tools I might need? What would you rate this on the difficulty scale? Thanks again

Check out this site: http://forums.nasioc.com/forum...19607

The basic steps are there, but you may have to modify some steps (like how much of the strut to cut) since our struts are different from the subaru impreza.

That helps a lot. I did a search on how to install strut inserts on Google and didn't really come up with nothing. On an unrelated topic...got any pictures of your strut bar? Would you ship?

boilermaker has made a thread about it with pictures on http://www.civicforums.com. its basically the same as that but for a civic obviously. Honda Tuner magazine also installed it with a DIY with pictures on its website for a 01 with 50MM Koni's

See that is another question. The website showed the EM2 fitting with 55mm and then the next set of strut inserts they had was 50mm. The only thing is that it said "EM2? Coupe." So I'm really not sure witch ones to go with. Here is a link to that website

What year is your car? 01s should be 50mm, 02s are mixed, and 03s+ should be 55mm. I would measure just to be sure.
