I've actually asked a couple other forums, searched around, googled, you name it... haven't come up with anything yet so I figured I would see if anyone at honda-tech had dynoed one, or had access to a dyno of one. I'm just curious to see what kind of (tiny amount) of power these things actually put to the ground. I figured with people doing turbo builds and all kinds of wild stuff for them someone would've done a baseline dyno to provide some kind of before/after numbers but I haven't found one yet.

 

the absolute max would be 114, as given by honda

 

114 crank horsepower, assuming your typical 15% drivetrain loss, you're looking at 97WHP.

Even if the drivetrain is more efficient than that...say 10% (which isn't happening), it's 102.6HP. You're somewhere in between there within 5HP.

Close enough for me haha

 

my a2 with intake header and exhaust dynoed at 104 hp and 93 lbs of tq. keep in mind mines an automatic im sure a 5 spd would have been around 110 hp or so

 

^^ really? dam that seems kinda high for an auto. what type of dyno did you run on? gearbox from 7thgencivic barely hit 100whp with I/H/E, PnP head, and VAFC i believe

 

it says on the sheet its a dynocom dyno. i can always try and scan the dyno sheet if you want me to.

Some people just like knowing information because they think it's better to know than not to know. Your statement that "if you really care what kind of power your car has...", neither of your suggestions makes any sense whatsoever. Would you care to explain how me swapping engines or adding a turbo will inform me as to what kind of power my car makes stock? Yeah, my car would get a lot faster but obviously that was never the point of what I was asking because nowhere in the thread did I say "HOW CAN I MAKE MORE POWER!?!?!". I simply asked what kind of power the d17 puts down in stock form because I was curious. God forbid anyone be interested in learning something just for the sake of learning, right? Your reading comprehension 'skills' really are pathetic.


And while we're on the topic, if I was interested in making power you'd be the last ******* person on the planet I would ask anyway... my old piece of crap plymouth neon with basic boltons ate b16 civics with more mods than yours for lunch on numerous occasions so please stop acting like you have any say in advising someone on what they should do to make their car faster. People like you are the reason honda owners get a bad name in the first place... someone dumps thousands and thousands of dollars into their vehicle to run 15s (unless they only drive decently, in which case it's 16s) and then go around acting cocky and giving the rest of the automotive community something else to laugh about. Next time maybe put a little bit more work under the hood before you start counter-acting your minimal performance gain with an oversized audio system, or at least don't let anyone else know that you did an engine swap and your car is STILL embarassingly slow because it really does make us all look bad. At least I have an excuse for driving a slow car (Not a theft magnet, awesome gas mileage, warranty, stock reliability).
