Does vtec kick when reving?
vtec should not engage below a certain speed (15mph or something) because of the vss. it is normal for it to not hit while you're revving the engine at a standstill.
I was at some races one time and in an eg hatch when he revved you could here it. Thats why i asked. I think it might be an obd2 thing. I bet if i go obd1 then it wont do that.

i have a 95 del sol with a jdm b16a with hondata s200 and if i rev my engine past the 5500 rpm mark my v tec does kick in. i know this cause i have installed three leds that come one when the vtec comes on and they do light up once the rpms are at 5500

depends on the application.
at the strip...
it will can help your launch with drag slicks
it should also help spool the turbo at launch.
on the street, not really any use. traction is too limited.

I have the JDM D15b, and i can engage VTEC while revving from a stand still, its so odd. Computer is an OBD2 VTEC (p2p? i think, whatever the stock Y8 one is), its a temporary one for the time being, motor runs fine, but as stated before, for some odd reason i can pop VTEC at a stand still, revving.
