I'm driving my brother-in-law's ap2 and I don't know where the remote gas door button is. please let me know. the gas tank is getting low!

 

open the driver door, and look about half way down on the qp plastics beside the bolster of the driver seat. its the black pull thingy.

 

Haha that owned me too the first day I got her and didn't have my owner's manual handy...

Had to wait for them to research... I finally opened the door and looked around.

damn glad you asked this question, I have an 06 that has been sitting in my driveway for over a year because I never could figure out how to fill it up after the first tank full!!

 

LOL, i heading out later today to get mine glad i saw this so now i won't look stupid

 

Back when i bought my AP1 the salesman couldnt find it either, had to ask somebody else where it was LOL

I didn't have a problem finding the gas release ****, but I went over a year without knowing there was a secret compartment.

 

I bought mine in New Jersey (for those who are unaware, NJ is on of two States that mandates the gas be pumped by a gas station employee), and I couldn't find it.

My friend laughed at me.

 

I had the same embarrassing problem the first day I got my AP1. hahaha

 

I had to show my salesman where it was when we went for a test drive and needed to get some gas.

It was an awkward moment between us.

 

Big thanks to "nicchles". My **** was on empty and I pulled into the gas station by my house and I looked like a complete idoit trying to open the gas door. I felt like I was getting strange reactions from people so I was like, "I'll just post up on h-t, I might get an answer by morning."

On a side note, it's good to be apart of the s2000 community. I just aquired that ap2 I had a problem with. By Bro-in-law owns the MY06 as a company car and I just started to work with him, so as one of the "perks" of my new job, I get the car. I just pay for the insurance and the gas.

The insurance on it is a ******* lot! Since its a lease by the company, they require the highest full-coverage auto insurance, and I didn't think the gas mileage would be less than my turbo d16. But other than that, It's ******* blast to drive. I plan on parking my beatup 92 si. I wanted to build up the si, but after driving the S for two weeks I want to work on the ap2.

LMAO! im in the same boat as you, i didnt realize that i had an upper compartment til i owned the car for 2 months!

haha, above your little center console theres another console. open up the lower console and then theres a latch for an upper console.
