I have heard a few people saying they did this and it overspun there turbo and cooked it.

Best suggestion is baby the **** outa it, never hit boost. Or get it trailered.

id drive 45 in 5th gear, no more that 1500, if it spins a little, it will be fine, but dont go boosting 10 psi untuned

you can do like these guys have said but just get it towed or rent a trailor and take it over like that. its a safer idea.

true it is, but if you dont have a truck to pull it, or the cash to rent a trailor, at least there is another way

true but if you dont have the cash to get it towed and if something goes wrong while you are driving it you definetly wont have the cash to fix it. most likely nothing bad will happen this is just how i think, always expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

or you could try and get a basemap which is safer then driving an untuned car.

Id say if you don't have the cash to have it towed to tune, you have no business boosting your car. thats just my .02

i have the cash..but if i can save 150 bux to get it to the shop..then ill do that..if its not going to hurt anything then ill do it..i was jw if it was safe..or if i was gunna expletive somthing up..so ill just stay out of boost and be fine..and ill take my left side piping off..and put a filter on there just in case..

i think you should just drive it ad stay out of boost. have you ever driven a boosted honda? you will only build boost past 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. so if you can keep from floring the pedel you will be fine. i drove my car 200 miles with out going into boost when i was breaking in my motor.

its also better to drive your car a little before you pay to have it tuned because there might be a few small things you need to fix, like leaks, noises

ya well ive driven it and i hit boost once..and it just fell on its face cuz it was outa tune...i think im just gunna pay the 75 bux to have it towed up there..and not take the chances of overspinning my turbo and stuff

just leave the IC pipe on and turn ur boost controller all the way down...you will be fine as long as you dont smash it the wastegate/boost controller will keep your turbo from building more then 2 or 3 psi....
your untuned motor can handle that.

thats a pain in the ***, his car will be fine with only really low boost lvls. I drove my untuned h23 turbo for almost 90 miles to portland to get it tuned..i just stayed out of boost (as much as possible hehe), its still going strong a year and a half later (tuned of course)

I guess, depending on what kind, mine(turbosmart) took me about 5 mins to get it out and then back in. If he's that worried about it blowing up then he can take it out if it's easy enough.
