Can Hondata s200 be cleared by shorting out the starter wire?
I recently changed my starter, alternator, and intake manifold on my car( same manifold). I also added a greddy sandwich plate, and a password jdm thermal intake manifold gasket. Everything went back the way it came out. Im running 1000cc injectors, and last night I didnt mean to ground out the wire coming from the battery to the starter, would this somehow clear my tune out of my hondata? The car will idle hard for a sec and then go dead. If I hold the throttle down, it will stay running. When i pull my pplugs out they are black as hell, and covered in gas, so are my pistons. Could this be the air idle control valve, or is my program gone? Before I changed anything, the car was having idle problems, up and down and just high idle. What could this be?
you might have burned out your ecu, or the hondata blue box. To answer your question about shorting that out and loosing your tune, no. Your tune is on a eprom chip inside the ecu the hondata box just allows you to use that chip. good luck.
I found out that my AIC was shot out!! It allowed it to run too rich at idle, which in turn fowled out my spark plugs, which wouldnt allow it to run. Hondata doesnt show the code for the AIC inless its unplugged. So I put one from a GSR on it, and wollah, perfect idle and my powers back. Thanks for all the thought, you learn something new everytime.
