good work,

Except for one thing... when it 'skids' isn't it going to eat the heads off the bolts?

if i were designing it i would have made it so that the assembly hardware was on the side of the skid plate that didn't touch the ground.

You want to camphere those holes and use flat head screws and it will be completely flush ... a machine screw with a nut will work just fine:

I know I need to get the flat head screws... I was just using those bolt while I was making it, they allowed me a little more clamping force than the screws would have.
