Default IAB

Should the IAB's open when the car's not moving, but reving high? And what about when I disconnect the vacuum line? Will they always be open? Because I've been thinking mine haven't been opening, and with the line disconnected, they still seem to stay closed, but I can open them with my finger, so they're not frozen. Any ideas?

By themselves, they stay open, but when you start the engine the vacuum pulls them closed.

Well, here's my problem. When they car's off, I can move the plates open and closed (I would assume where the spring puts them is open if it's while the car's off). Now, with the car on, they're still in the same position. So would this mean mine are stuck open? I feel no pressure in the vacuum hose. That would explain why my car has no bottom end...

Yeah, sounds like your aren't working...do you have the box under the intake manifold hooked up properly? It has an electrical connector and a couple vacuum lines...

Since I've never touched the box, I'm going to assume it's connected correctly for now. I took a piece of hose and connected it to the vacuum port and the IAB's will now close when the car's on and under low load. At 1/2 throttle they'll open up. Now, my next test was to pull the vacuum box off my stock resonator and hook it up. Sure enough, it's closed until about 4.5k. Either the IAB box is plugged/bad, or I have a bad hose. Is there any way to get at the IAB box from the top of the car? It doesn't look easily serviceable. For now I've got the resonator vacuum box tucked so I can use that for now and reclaim some milage and bottom end
